Nikola Tesla the man who helped power the world as we know it. His genius and curious were pivotal in developing the engines and electricity supply system, he was a Serbian engineer and inventor although Tesla is well known for his own inventions. His life story is more interesting, he was a smart child that could do calculus in his head a workaholic and a college dropout. He had a photographic memory and spoke 8 languages. Today world still remembers and honors Nikola Tesla for his genius mind and for his inventions. He lived for 86 years.

1. He could have become a billionaire.
After working for Thomas Edison's company for a few months Tesla quit and started his own company. He made a lot of money through his 100 patents and inventions but he was terrible with finance and businesses he could become billionaire 100 years ago but threw it all away. He broke many contracts worth millions and dismissed his parents that were worth 12 million dollars back then and over 300 million dollars today because he wanted short term money.
2. Nikola Tesla had a gambling addiction.

Nikola Tesla had a hard time in school even as a child he struggled proving himself because teachers thought he copied because he could do calculus in his head. He did finish 4 years of high school in three years but dropped out of college. After he lost his scholarship midway through he began gambling all of is money for more than a year, in fact he got so bad he went back to his family. 3. J.P Morgan gave him $150,000 for a project and then abandoned him.

Nikola Tesla knows how to talk to people and convinced them of his great ideas and potential. He wasn't the best fundraiser but he managed to convince a few powerful men to fund his ideas. JP Morgan gave into his ideas and agreed to give him $150,000 but after seeing no progress JP Morgan stopped funding Tesla and left him because as wise of businessman he was he wanted to see a return on his investment not failed attempts.
4. Nikola Tesla had huge debts.
When Nikola Tesla had financial problems later in life nobody knew about them. He managed to convince people to keep this a secret though he was struggling to pay the money back. He had debts to hotels in Newyork and creditors like J.P Morgan.
5. Nikola Tesla was hired by Germans before WW1.

After WW1 broke wireless communication was being used to communicate with troops pilots and spies. The US sued the German radio company Telefunken for patent infringement. To fight it germans brought in two physicists for their defense and hired Tesla as a witness for two years $1000 a month
6. The hotel room in which Nikola Tesla died can be booked for staying.

Nikola Tesla died at 86 years old in his hotel room at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City. since then almost 75 years later the hotel changed its name to Windham New Yorker Hotel. The room 3327 where he was found dead by the maid is still preserved as he left it and is still available to book. The hotel doesn't charge extra for it but its almost booked months in advance most people hope that paranormal activity during their stay but its just excitement, the room is perfectly safe.

But their certain situations that terminated their collaboration after just six months. Edison offered Tesla $50000 bonus which would be the equivalent of 1 million dollars today but Tesla didn't like the offer and quit immediately.
8. Nikola Tesla designed the first hydroelectric power plant in Niagara Falls.

9. He filed a patent for a drone prototype.

Tesla filed 100 patents during his lifetime. He owned over 300 official patents and he also made serious money out of them while they were under his ownership they brought him millions of dollars and could have grasped more but he sold them. In 1898 Tesla filed for a patent that is pretty much a drone. He envisioned controlling unmanned vehicles via electrical waves and because he was aiming for peace he wanted them to auto-destruct if ever used for evil purposes.

In Palo Alto there is a Nikola Tesla statue that's equipped with free wifi and a time capsule to be opened in 2043. The statue was funded through a Kickstarter campaign with over 127 thousand dollars and gives free wifi because that was Tesla's dream to offer free and wireless communication.
